Dental Care

- Coverage is available for some surgical dental procedures performed
in a hospital.
- Children under 12 years receive coverage for basic dental
services (cleanings, fluoride, x-rays, routine fillings, and examinations
every 6 months.)
- Individuals aged 13 - 17 on social assistance also receive
coverage for basic dental services.
- Individuals over 17 on social assistance receive coverage
for emergency services and extractions.

Hospital Care
|
- There is coverage for basic ward accommodations.

Health Specialists
|
- Coverage is available for physiotherapy services performed
in a hospital.
- There is no coverage for other services.

Homecare and Nursing
|
- 100% coverage is available for nursing, occupational
therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy.
- Regular fees apply to meals, respite care, and personal care.

Ambulatory Services
|
- 100% coverage is available for emergency transfer to
a hospital out-of-province and for selected procedures.
- In other cases, there is coverage of $75 per transfer.

Hearing Aids
|
- 100% coverage us available to individuals under 18,
full-time students, and deemed unable to pay by Social Services.
- Individuals over 18, receiving social assistance are covered
for one hearing aid only.

Medical Equipment and Supplies
|
- Individuals on social assistance receive 100% coverage
for colostomy supplies, oxygen, trusses, crutches and braces.
- Individuals over 65 receive 75% coverage for colostomy
supplies.
- No coverage is available for other equipment and supplies.
